A short, bounded piece of work β one review, one audit, one simulation of a design you've already sketched.
- 1β2 weeks typical
- Single deliverable
- No retainer commitment
Kiora Systems is a thermal design consultancy for hardware teams building phones, tablets and small devices. We help you plan the cooling stack before the first prototype exists β and quietly fix the ones that already shipped.
A short, bounded piece of work β one review, one audit, one simulation of a design you've already sketched.
A full engagement that carries a design from question to physical mock-up. You get a team, not a single consultant.
Ongoing access to the bench for teams shipping every quarter. Priority queue, standing call, no re-scoping each time.
Nine design and analysis services. Add any of them to your quote β the formal price comes after a short scoping call.
Full CFD and FEA of your proposed cooling stack under three sustained workloads. Includes hotspot maps and margin analysis.
A second opinion on an existing design. We read your drawings, spot the risks, and write a short list of changes worth making.
We design a full cooling stack for your target thermal budget β spreader layout, materials, and a suggested BOM.
Two days at your site. We shadow a build, inspect line samples, and give a verbal readout plus a written summary.
We recommend suppliers for spreaders, TIM and frames, and connect you with two or three at each tier with pricing notes.
Physical mock-ups of the cooling stack β enough to run in a test jig, not a full phone. Includes two revisions.
Five days with your engineering team. We bring the method; you bring the constraints. Ends with a proposed stack and a plan.
A half-day session for engineers new to thermal design. Slides, exercises, and a short handout you can keep.
Continuous access to the bench. Up to four active briefs, priority turnaround, and a standing 60-minute call each month.
Every engagement is staffed from the four roles below. A dot means that role actively contributes to that capability.
A short call. We agree what question you actually need answered, and what it's worth answering.
We do the analysis, design, or audit. You get a mid-point check-in, not a black box.
Written report, raw data, and a call to walk through it with your team. Nothing hidden in footnotes.
Two weeks of follow-up questions included. After that, a retainer is the usual next step.
Nine design and analysis services. Add any of them to your quote and request a formal price β every project is scoped individually.
Three sizes of engagement. Pick the one that matches the shape of your question β we'll say so if a smaller one would do.

βWe asked for a simulation of a cooling stack we'd already half-built. They found a bubble in the spreader layout we'd all missed.β

βThe five-day sprint saved us a quarter of internal design iteration. Their method is the value, not just the report.β

βThey said no to part of our brief because it fell outside their scope. We respected that more than we expected to.β

βVendor sourcing alone paid for the retainer. They connected us to a spreader supplier we'd been chasing for months.β

βWe moved from ad-hoc to a monthly retainer. Four briefs a month is exactly the cadence we needed.β

Kiora is four people. We keep it that way on purpose β you always know who's working on your brief.
We cap concurrent briefs at four. Past that we'd be doing three of them badly. When we're full, we say so honestly, and we point teams to people we trust.
Yes. Ours is short and standard. We can also sign yours if it's reasonable β send it during scoping.
Yes, that's a common case. A Cooling Stack Review is designed exactly for this β it's a second opinion, not a redo.
Advisory work runs 1β2 weeks. A full project is typically 4β12 weeks. Retainers run month-to-month.
No. We do design and analysis. Certification is a separate process handled by accredited labs β we can point you to one.
A PDF report, raw data as CSV where relevant, one call with the lead, and short handoff notes you can take in-house.
Yes. Vendor & Materials Sourcing is a stand-alone service. We connect you with two or three suppliers per tier and give you pricing notes.
That's the best time to talk. A Design Sprint is designed for early-stage teams. So is a Reference Architecture Proposal.

Where safety matters, the manufacturer's documentation and formal certification take precedence over anything we publish.
We do not disassemble devices and we do not recommend that others do. Self-repairs can void warranties and create safety risks.
Every report states its assumptions. Extrapolating our recommendations to other loads, other ambient conditions or other devices is not supported by the underlying analysis.
Client projects stay confidential by default. We only publish notes when a client has given written permission and a redacted version has been agreed.
